LA Knight made a huge impact with his debut at NXT TakeOver: Vengeance Day on February 14th, 2021. After getting called up to the main roster, Knight went through a couple of character changes before returning to his original gimmick. Now it appears that Knight wants to become the Universal Champion sooner than later.

Many consider LA Knight to be one of the best promo workers in WWE right now and it is not difficult to see why. After all, LA Knight has managed to win over many due to his skill on the microphone.

LA Knight has tried to keep himself relevant despite all the bizarre angles given to him. While he is certainly popular, Knight has been on a losing streak as of late, losing to Xavier Woods on last week’s episode of Friday Night Smackdown.

While speaking with KTAL NBC 6, LA Knight talked about his future goals in WWE. The former Million Dollar Champion stated that he is looking to become the Universal Champion sooner than later.

“Not only are they looking for me to become world champ sometime soon, but I’m looking to become the WWE Universal Champion sooner than later.

Dream matches, you think about people from the past who aren’t doing it anymore. There are a couple of those. Everyone is talking about it again, the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion, that makes me look at Roman Reigns. Even Gunther, with the Intercontinental Championship. Austin Theory for the United States Championship. Any one of those guys, who I could take a piece of gold off of, that would be my dream match.”

LA Knight was also compared to WWE Hal Of Famer Steve Austin in big way recently. We will have to wait and see whether the former NXT star will be able to win the Universal Champion one day.

What’s your take on what LA Knight said? Do you think LA Knight will become the Universal Champion one day? Sound off in the comments!
