LA Knight made a significant impression after his debut at NXT TakeOver: Vengeance Day on February 14th, 2021. Following his promotion to the main roster, he underwent a couple of changes and is now seen as one of the top stars on the blue brand. It appears that Knight has been compared to Steve Austin in a big way recently.

LA Knight is regarded as one of the best promo workers in WWE right now and there is a good reason for that. After all, LA Knight has managed to win over many thanks to his promos.

As seen on this week’s episode of Friday Night Smackdown, LA Knight squared off against Xavier Woods in singles competition. Knight got too busy arguing with the referee, leading to Xavier Woods rolling him up for the win.

While speaking on Smack Talk, veteran manager Dutch Mantel noted how LA Knight begins his promos the same way Steve Austin did and added how valuable Knight is to WWE.

“I think he’s a very valuable performer to them and they wanna take their time with him. I’d rather they take their time instead of trying to rush him. I think that helps him in the long run and that helps WWE… He kind of puts off a little bit of Stone Cold vibes to me. He goes, ‘Hey let me talk at you’ and people like that. I think he can go out there, and as the old saying goes, he can talk them into the building. You give him something hot and I think he’s gonna take off and run.”

We will have to wait and see whether WWE will finally have a proper program for LA Knight to truly show off his skills and flourish in a big way. After all, LA Knight is simply too valuable to be wasted in WWE.

What’s your take on what Dutch Mantell said? Do you think LA Knight has the same abilities as Steve Austin? Sound off in the comments!
