AEW has a lot going on backstage, and sometimes that includes drama. Tony Khan’s company gained a focus on many occasions, mostly thanks to the seemingly constant backstage issues between talent. There is a reason for that, and it comes down to leadership.

Tony Khan hasn’t really flexed his muscle as an authority figure. We hear about him having discussions with talent over things, and in rare cases fines are given. That being said, Vince Russo believes that Tony Khan could do more.

During the Wrestling Outlaws show, Vince Russo brought up Jon Moxley’s comments about AEW’s backstage politics and the general drama in the company. For Russo, that was a bit too far, and there are no ramifications in place in order to correct it. That shouldn’t be the case, in Russo’s opinion.

“There is a culture now where you could say whatever you wanna say, you know there is gonna be no ramifications. You know, Tony Khan isn’t going to do anything, he is not gonna say anything, because he is not a leader. He absolutely is not a leader. So they know they have the freedom to say whatever they wanna say and they are gonna say it. There’s gonna be no consequences.”

Vince Russo is certainly an outspoken member of the pro wrestling world. Obviously, he is giving his opinion, but it still carries a lot of weight with some fans. Only time will tell if he actually makes a dent in Tony Khan’s booking.

In the meantime, AEW will continue on their path. They are going strong as they head toward All In London, and you never know if All Out could still follow that massive event as a pay-per-view the next weekend.

What’s your take on AEW’s current company trajectory? Do you think they are doomed to fail? Sound off in the comments!
