AEW Rampage was live this week, and they took every opportunity they could to make a joke about WWE’s merger. There were two apparent references to the WWE and UFC merger during the show, and neither of them seemed to look at the merger as a great thing for WWE.

During QTV, QT Marshall took a little dig at the WWE and UFC situation. He threw in a quick line about a bunch of news and a buyout. That wasn’t the only reference that AEW couldn’t help but put in about their competition.

Swere Strickland is in a tough situation. A majority of his stable is injured, and he needs new associates. He had quite a way of introducing this idea as well.

Since Trench and Parker Boudreaux of the Mogul Affiliates are injured, Swerve said that he was going to arrange a merger, but of course, he would take 51%. That was an apparent reference to how Endeavor is taking 51% of WWE. Later on, it was revealed that Strickland joined the Embassy.

These were some very interesting digs at WWE from AEW on live television. We’ll have to see if they keep this up, but it seems that AEW is not going to stop making references and cracking little jokes about the big headlines that WWE makes.

What’s your take on AEW’s constant digs at WWE? Should they mind their own business? Sound off in the comments!
