The Rock Set To Star In Live-Action ‘Moana’ Remake

The Rock is undoubtedly one of the biggest stars not only in pro wrestling but also in Hollywood now. In fact, he has portrayed a variety of roles throughout his Hollywood career, including the hit 2016 animated film ‘Moana.’ Now it seems he still be starring in the live-action remake of ‘Moana.’

During the Disney 2023 Annual Meeting of Shareholders Webcast on April 3, The Rock made an exciting announcement that got fans of ‘Moana’ excited. The Rock revealed that a live-action remake of the popular film is currently in the works.

As a key cast member of the original movie, The Rock announced that he would be reprising his role as Maui in the new version of the story. In the webcast, The Rock also revealed that his portrayal of Maui in the original film was inspired by his grandfather Peter Maivia.

The Rock took to Twitter and stated that the Maui character was his way of paying tribute to his grandfather, whom he considered to be a major influence in his life. The Rock added that he is honored to bring Maui to life once again, this time in a live-action format.

The ‘Moana’ live-action remake is still in the early stages of development and a lot of work is still let to be done. We will have to wait and see when the live-action remake will release, as fans are certainly excited for its release.
