AEW has a lot going on, and many championship titles floating around the company. They also have several legends around, but that doesn’t mean they are all willing to accept a title run from Tony Khan’s company.

WWE released Jeff Jarrett from his contract shortly after Triple H took control of the company’s creative direction. It didn’t take AEW much time at all to sign a deal with Double J, and they are making the most of his versatility. It seems that he’s down to compete and work backstage, but a title run might not happen.

Ringside News was told that “Jeff Jarrett was asked to beat Orange Cassidy, but he refused to beat him for the AEW International Championship belt.” Jeff Jarrett had reasons for declining this creative move.

We asked why this happened, because Jeff Jarrett doesn’t seem to have a history of turning down championship runs. Our source explained to us that, “It was out of respect for the company and his executive role.”

Jeff Jarrett has full plate in AEW. He is assisting the company with their House Rules events, and the company is adding even more dates to that House Rules schedule. It seems that while Jeff Jarrett doesn’t want another championship run in AEW, he isn’t hanging up his boots just yet. Only time will tell if he changes his mind about things.

What’s your take on Jeff Jarrett’s stint in AEW? Do you think he has another championship run in him? Sound off in the comments!
