AEW’s partnership x NJPW has paid off in a huge way, especially thanks to their first-ever Forbidden Door crossover event last year. With the second one set to take place in Toronto this Summer, it seems an NJPW star will be competing for an NJPW title on next week’s episode of AEW Dynamite.

Jeff Cobb has been calling out Omega for weeks, eager for a shot at the coveted title. Following his recent New Japan Cup final match, Cobb spoke candidly about his pursuit of Omega and the backlash he faced from fans on social media.

In a fiery speech, Cobb made it clear that he had his sights set on Omega and was willing to do whatever it takes to challenge him for the title. In fact, he teased appearing on the March 29th episode of AEW Dynamite.

AEW President Tony Khan took to Twitter and officially confirmed that Jeff Cobb will be challenging Kenny Omega for the IWGP United States Championship on next week’s episode of AEW Dynamite.
