Brock Lesnar has been through a lot in WWE throughout his monstrous run on top of the company. The Next Big Thing proved himself to be just that, and he eventually evolved into the Beast Incarnate we know today. He has also made a ton of money as a pro wrestler, and doesn’t need to work anymore. He proved that by going home during a very crucial time in WWE history.

WWE carried on throughout the pandemic, and they still presented a WrestleMania without anyone in attendance. COVID-19 was a serious thing, and there were also a lot of unanswered questions about how to really deal with the virus.

During WrestleMania 37, an event that took place with strict COVID-19 protocols in place, Brock Lesnar lost the WWE Title to Drew McIntyre at the show of shows with no fans present, and then Lesnar went home. Drew McIntyre carried the WWE Title for months after that, doing his signature pose as WWE Champion without anyone there to cheer him except for developmental talent.

During an interview with Faction 919, Paul Heyman explained how he became Roman Reigns’ Wise Man. In the process, he also revealed that Brock Lesnar was “done” with WWE after that WrestleMania match at the WWE Performance Center.

“Nobody approached me on that. Brock Lesnar’s contract was up in April or May (…) 2020. After the match with Drew McIntyre in that WrestleMania, Brock Lesnar went home to Saskatchewan. He was done in WWE, he wasn’t coming back. My calendar was open, and so was Roman Reigns.”

Brock Lesnar is telling people backstage in WWE that he is finishing up with the company soon. He has match against Omos slated for WrestleMania 39, and that match was actually filled with controversy as well.

Drew McIntyre is in line for a possible IC Title match at WrestleMania, but he will have to battle for that title. Only time will tell if Drew McIntyre and Brock Lesnar ever meet in the ring again, but it certainly made for an interesting WrestleMania moment.
