WWE has a lot of plans in the pipeline, and one of the more interesting ones seems to include the idea of betting on matches. WWE is trying to move that idea forward, and it’s only a matter of time before we know if they will be successful. If WWE is able to pull that off, then it will mean a lot of things will have to change for how they operate.

WWE matches are not “fake,” but they are predetermined. Wrestlers work together to tell a story in the ring, and they know the result ahead of time. That might change if WWE can legalize betting on their matches.

During Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer spoke about this situation briefly. He explained that if WWE is able to legalize betting on their matches, then the wrestlers involved won’t be able to know their own match finishes, because otherwise might violate a gaming regulation.

They would be in a lot of trouble with gaming violations and that’s not hing to mess with. They literally can’t do that. So, the talent won’t be able to know their finishes, at least on the stuff that’s being gambled on.

It was also noted that this wasn’t something that a lot of people within the company knew that WWE was trying to pull off. It would be a very interesting situation if WWE is able to legalize betting on their predetermined matches. The current thought is that wrestlers will be told about their match finish when betting closes, just before the show starts.

We’ll have to see what’s next for WWE if they are able to legalize betting on their matches. After all, it could add an extra element of intrigue for fans who have a lot of money on the matches.

Are you down to bet on WWE matches? Would this ruin pro wrestling as we know it? Sound off in the comments and let us know what you think!
