WWE has lot of options when they’re planning out WrestleMania. Not all plans can come together as planned. The Rock was able to work two WrestleMania events in a row against John Cena, and there were apparently plans for him to make a return for a third event in a row for another huge matchup.

One fan tweeted out to Dave Meltzer to ask, “was there ever a discussion of doing Rock-Cena 3 or it was it always just meant to be the 2 matches at back to back WM.” This was a good question, and Meltzer had quite a response.

It turns out that WWE had plans for The Rock to make a return at WrestleMania 30, but that didn’t happen. If he did wrestle at the show, then The Great One would have squared off against Brock Lesnar.

Not really. Rock was planned for Lesnar the next year but after his injuries the movie studios did not want him wrestling again.

At WrestleMania XXX, Brock Lesnar went head to head with The Undertaker in what would become one of the most iconic matches in WWE history. The showdown resulted in the end of The Undertaker’s undefeated WrestleMania streak, shocking fans around the world. Meanwhile, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson was absent from the event, but it was widely assumed that he would make an appearance at some point during the show. However, this wasn’t the case, and he didn’t make an appearance at the following year’s WrestleMania either.

Many wrestling fans speculated that The Rock would return to the ring for match against Roman Reigns, which would have undoubtedly been a blockbuster showdown. Unfortunately, this didn’t materialize, and The Rock is expected to be absent from the WWE ring this year at WrestleMania as well. Despite this disappointment, fans continue to hold out hope for a potential Rock comeback in the future.
