Sami Zayn picked up ton of steam on the way to WrestleMania 39, and he still doesn’t have a match in stone. That being said, wherever the Underdog from the Underground finds himself, he’s likely to command a ton of attention on the card. This could concern WWE a bit as they make their way toward the showcase of the immortals.

Cody Rhodes and Paul Heyman had big promo on RAW, but there were also a few Sami Zayn chants. This was something that the company certainly paid close attention to.

During Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer stated that WWE was “very concerned” with the amount of chants that Sami Zayn is getting, especially during that Cody Rhodes promo with Paul Heyman. They also really want to position Cody Rhodes as their top babyface on the road to WrestleMania.

“The stuff with Cody and Heyman – they (WWE) were very concerned about Sami chants, which is one of the reasons why they got Heyman out there in seconds.

“They did not want Cody in there by himself because they thought that – it didn’t happen – but they did everything in their power to make sure they kept that moving, they did not allow the audience a chance to start chanting or anything like that, it was just back-and-forth.

“It was designed to give the audience no chance to chant because of the feeling that if they did it would hurt Cody’s momentum.

“And perhaps it would, and then it could create that groundswell (for Zayn) which is exactly what they don’t want right now.”

We’ll have to see what happens in the next few weeks, but fans have obviously picked their side. It does not appear that Sami Zayn will get that WrestleMania title match that, so many want for him, but there’s a chance that he could still walk out of SoFi Stadium with a title around his waist when everything is said and done. It just won’t be the Undisputed WWE Universal Title as so many want for him.

WWE obviously has a lot of irons in the fire, and you never know what will happen next. For the latest pro wrestling news, keep an eye on Ringside News.
