AEW is heading to Phoenix, Arizona for the first time since its inception in 2019. Tony Khan has big things planned for the show, specifically a huge announcement concerning AEW. Tony Khan’s announcements are known to be quite huge. In the past, his announcements have included the purchase of Ring Of Honor, a new show, and tournament for an AEW title.

Tony Khan most recently appeared in an interview with Phoenix New Times ahead of AEW’s first show in Phoenix. Concurrently, the February 22 episode of AEW Dynamite would also be graced by a very important announcement by the CEO of AEW.

When pressed about what the announcement is going to entail, Tony Khan preferred to keep silent. What he did let out was that it is going to be a big thing for the company.

“Hah. Well, I can’t tell you right now, but it’s something I’m very excited about and it’s great for the company,”

Tony Khan previously confirmed that second Forbidden Door event is in the works. It was further pressed on whether the announcement would shed some light on AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door 2.

Tony Khan refused to budge on revealing more information about the announcement. He then went on to say that the upcoming announcement would take the company in new directions and that he is eagerly waiting to share it with the AEW universe.

“There are a lot of exciting things in the near future for AEW. All I can say is we have an important announcement coming at this show in Phoenix. And it’s an exciting development for the company, and I’m excited to share it with the fans in Phoenix and all over the world.”

It remains to be seen what the announcement is going to entail. The February 22nd edition of AEW Dynamite is also set to feature match between Jon Moxley and The Evil Uno to earn a spot in the AEW Tag Team Title bout at AEW Revolution. For more updates, stay tuned to Ringside News.
