WWE held the Royal Rumble event on Saturday, and plenty of fans witnessed the exciting event at the Alamodome in San Antonio. That being said, the event’s musical act, Hardy, wasn’t the winner that WWE was probably hoping for.

Hardy’s performance went down right after the Women’s Royal Rumble match, and right before the main event of Kevin Owens vs Roman Reigns. Fans were tired and didn’t respond much to the musical interlude.

According to a report from Fightful’s paywall, Hardy’s performance was “scoffed at” by those in the company. It wasn’t a big hit internally, just like it wasn’t with fans.

The Hardy performance was largely scoffed at by those we spoke to in the company, and felt like it compromised

WWE did not put the Hardy performance on their official YouTube page. It remains to be seen how Hardy benefited from the mini-concert, but it certainly wasn’t seen in the best light backstage.

Hardy has his fans, and we’re certain that some of them were watching the Royal Rumble event. Still, his performance was probably better suited for another part of the show, and not right before the main event so late into the festivities.

I love pro wrestling and hate BS. These two things drive me. Years of experience in writing, journalism, and digging exclusive insider info for Ringside News. Worked in finance before realizing pro wrestling journalism made much less sense. Pro beachballs at pro wrestling shows, pro dives if someone catches, anti bullies, olives, and pineapples on pizza.
