Nick Aldis made a name for himself in the National Wrestling Alliance (NWA) as one of the top performers in the organization. Since winning the NWA World Heavyweight Championship in 2017, Aldis has defended the title against some of the biggest names in the industry, including Cody Rhodes and Tim Storm. Aldis’ tenure as champion has been characterized by his willingness to take on all challengers and his ability to adapt to different styles of wrestling.

He has put on classic matches against opponents who are known for their technical abilities, such as Marty Scurll and Joe Galli, as well as against brawlers like David Starr and Aron Stevens. Aldis has also been a trailblazer for the NWA, taking the title to the UK and defending it on multiple occasions and bringing international attention to the organization.

Despite his contributions to the company, Aldis expressed his displeasure over the management which resulted in him leaving the company. As of earlier this month, Aldis is free agent.

Since the news of his free agency broke, there has been a lot of speculation surrounding his future with many fans believing that Nick Aldis could appear at the Royal Rumble event as a surprise entrant in the Royal Rumble match. However, there has been no official confirmation from both parties on this.

Fightful Select is now reporting that WWE has been interested in Nick Aldis dating back to his days in the NWA. They also noted that his wife Mickie James is technically a free agent despite being the Impact Knockouts Champion.

“Regarding questions about Nick Aldis and Mickie James. We’ve heard about some WWE interest in Nick Aldis dating back to when he was in NWA. Mickie James is technically a free agent despite being IMPACT Knockouts Champion. She has commitments with IMPACT for quite a while,” per Fightful Select.

Given that Nick Aldis is currently a free agent, now would be the perfect time for the WWE to bring him into the company. The Royal Rumble is coming up in a matter of hours, as of this writing, anything is on the table.

We will have to wait and see if that happens. Stay tuned to Ringside News as we keep you updated on this story as it develops.
