Roman Reigns will defend the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship against Kevin Owens at the Royal Rumble pay-per-view in San Antonio, Texas. Reigns is undoubtedly WWE’s biggest draw and has been the top merchandise mover in the post-John Cena era. The Tribal Chief has been on a legendary heel run since 2020 and has smashed quite a few records within this time period. Since 2014, WWE began to establish Roman Reigns as their next face of the company, positioning him as a strong babyface, which was met with intense disapproval by audiences and critics. However, following his return in August 2020, Reigns was repackaged as a new heel character and his new villainous character instantly became a fan favorite. According to Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful, Roman Reigns’ TikTok account amassed 50,000 followers in less than 5 hours and his debut video garnered a whopping 300,000 during that timeframe.

Roman Reigns’ TikTok account already has 50K followers in less than 5 hours on the platform. His first TikTok arriving on a private jet in San Antonio for the Royal Rumble, after his appearance on the Tonight Show has 300K views in that same time span.

As the leader of The Bloodline, Roman Reigns’ ingoing storyline with Sami Zayn has been the hottest program on the main roster since May 2022. The Tribal Chief’s on-screen chemistry with The Honorary Uce has been met with acclaim.

Although Roman Reigns isn’t competing in the 30-Man Royal Rumble match this year, his stats cement him as one of the very best to have participated in the career defining bout. Reigns previously held the record for most eliminations in a Royal Rumble match with 12 in the 2014 event. 

Reigns was ranked number one in Pro Wrestling Illustrated’s annual PWI 500 list of the top 500 singles wrestlers in 2016 and 2022. He has headlined WrestleMania six times. Reigns is the twenty-eighth WWE Triple Crown Champion and the seventeenth WWE Grand Slam Champion.
