GUNTHER participated in the Men’s Royal Rumble match tonight. The WWE Intercontinental Champion entered the match at number one, and stayed all the way till the end of the match.

Michael Cole noted that GUNTHER stayed in the Royal Rumble match for 1 hour 11 minutes 25 seconds. He beat the record previously held by Rey Mysterio for the longest stay in a traditional rumble match.

GUNTHER gave exceptional performance during the match. The Ring General was one of the two participants, the other being Cody Rhodes, that made it to the end of the match.

Despite his incredible resilience, the Ring General was eliminated after The American Nightmare hit him with a Cross Rhodes followed by a clothesline to put him over the top rope.
