William Regal is widely respected in the professional wrestling industry for his in-depth knowledge and understanding of the business. Despite being released by WWE last year, he later joined AEW, but his stay was short-lived as he eventually returned to WWE. His extensive experience and acumen make him a valuable asset to the company, but he isn’t allowed to appear on television for WWE until 2023 is over. He is back in WWE and is more than happy not being in the limelight now.

William Regal’s AEW departure was not unexpected, as fans had speculated about it after he was written off television by MJF last year. The assumption was that Regal was returning to WWE, particularly after Triple H took over the company’s creative direction. His exit from AEW was officially confirmed by the company.

Tony Khan ultimately allowed Regal to leave the company so that he could work with his son in NXT. That being said, William Regal cannot appear as talent on WWE television for an entire year.

While speaking with Scroobius Pip, William Regal confirmed that he will not be appearing on WWE television for the entirety of 2023. That being said, Regal made it clear he is happy not being in the limelight now.

“I’m doing nothing else about anything or wrestling or anything for at least a year and I’m happy with that. I’m quite happy being in the background. I’m quite happy not being in the limelight, and I have been for many years. I had my time.”

William Regal will be present at all WWE television shows as part of his new deal. William Regal is now working with Triple H and can keep a close eye on his son, Charlie Dempsey, who wrestles in NXT. It remains to be seen how Lord Regal fares in his new role in WWE.
