Shawn Michaels is certainly one of the best in-ring performers to have ever graced a WWE ring. He was touted as Mr. WrestleMania, and he truly lived up to the moniker. He’s been through many wars in the squared circle, some were more difficult than others. In fact, Michaels claimed that his hour-long match with John Cena was easy.

The Showstopper has faced off against the best of the best the pro wrestling world has to offer. This includes his iconic matches with the likes of Kurt Angle and The Undertaker. He also has plenty of memories in the ring with John Cena.

One of Shawn Michaels’ best matches took place on an episode of “WWE Raw” in the United Kingdom against John Cena on April 23rd, 2007. The 56-minute match saw Michaels beat Cena clean as a whistle.

This took place just a couple of weeks after WrestleMania 23, where Cena beat Michaels and retained his WWE Championship. The match received tons of praise from fans and pro wrestlers alike.

While speaking on WWE’s The Bump, Shawn Michaels recalled what he believed the hardest part of his match against Cena was. Regardless, Michaels believed the match was still very easy.

“The hardest thing is, like, ‘Geez man, we just did 13 days over here. This is the end of the tour and John and I had to go an hour. No, look, there is no better guy to do it with than John, honestly, and I’ll say this — it sounds strange, but because, you know, it’s not a full hour and you feel like in your mind, even though you’re not dealing with commercial breaks, it’s not, it was really easy.

John is, is such a dream to work with, John and I got along very well,” Michaels said. “It was a fantastic night and I had a chemistry with John that was darn near effortless … It was absolutely a piece of cake because you know, it was just a lot of fun.”

Shawn Michaels also recently stated that he will never wrestle again. Michaels is fully invested in his current role in NXT, and he wouldn’t have it any other way. Regardless, his contributions to the business will forever be remembered. As for John Cena, it’s pretty easy to find him nowadays given his high-profile place in Hollywood.
