The wrestling world lost an all-time great in Jay Briscoe earlier this week. The Ring of Honor veteran tragically passed away in a car accident on Tuesday evening. His two daughters were involved in the car wreck as well. Thankfully, they survived the accident.

Michael Cole paid his respect to Jay Briscoe live on air during WWE SmackDown last night. The veteran commentator acknowledged The Briscoes as one of the greatest tag teams in professional wrestling.

SmackDown star Top Dolla gave a shoutout to The Briscoes after the show as well. The Hit Row member referenced The Briscoes’ “Reach for the Sky” catchphrase during a WWE Digital Exclusive interview with Cathy Kelley.

“I’m from where Dem Boys mask up until you reach for the sky.”

Hit Row won the first round of the SmackDown Team Titles Number One Contender’s Tournament last night. Top Dolla and Ashante Adonis will take on Banger Bros. (Drew McIntyre and Sheamus) in the tournament semifinals next Friday. You can read the complete line-up here.
