Santino Marella’s WWE debut saw him beat Umaga for the Intercontinental Championship on the April 16, 2007, episode of RAW. Marella was presented as a fan and won the title with a little help from Bobby Lashley that night in Milan, Italy.

Santino Marella stayed with WWE for the next decade. He teamed up with Vladimir Kozlov, formed an unlikely alliance with Beth Phoenix, and held the record for the fastest Royal Rumble elimination during his run with the company.

Santino Marella made a surprise return to Impact Wrestling at the promotion’s ongoing Hard to Kill pay-per-view event. Marella appeared to confront Moose after the big man picked up a sneak win over Impact Digital Media Champion Joe Hendry.

Marella revealed himself as the new Director of Authority. He said Impact had plans to put on a huge celebration for the winner of the match but Moose didn’t earn a rightful win. The match was restarted and Hendry picked up the win with a Standing Ovation.

Impact Wrestling’s parent company Anthem has previously filed to trademark name Santino Marella. It remains to be seen if Marella will stick with the company full-time. Check out the full segment here:
