WWE Hall Of Famer Eric Bischoff is true veteran of professional wrestling. Due to his veteran status, his opinion is still taken seriously, for the most part. That being said, Bischoff has largely been critical of AEW. However, Bischoff recently explained why he has a glimmer of hope for AEW.

As many people are aware by now, Tony Khan and Eric Bischoff do not necessarily have the best of relationships. The two had a falling out back in 2021, and it has not really gotten any better.

Last year, the WWE Hall Of Famer even called AEW a ‘vanity project.’ In fact, Easy E even repeatedly criticized AEW for having poorly crafted storylines and having matches for the sake of it.

While speaking on the Strictly Business podcast, Eric Bischoff talked about the one thing that makes him have a glimmer of hope for AEW as far as staying on television is concerned.

“I have no idea, there are a lot of things that suggest to me, it’s probably not a great franchise for them, but the one thing that suggests that it is, is they were, at least up until recently, maybe they still are, they’re apparently looking for bumper programming.”

“They’re looking for a lead-in, and they’re looking for a lead-out, with Dana White’s slap league or whatever that’s called. That at least indicates to me that they want to try to build on the franchise, and that’s a glimmer of hope for me if I was in AEW.”

Eric Bischoff also believes NXT will outperform AEW in ratings soon enough. We will have to wait and see whether 2023 will signal the beginning of AEW’s growth, as the company truly needs good news right now.
