WWE will continue with Triple H’s creative direction, despite Vince McMahon’s return to the Board of Directors. That being said, Triple H is going to continue casting his recruitment net, and he’s looking toward Japan.

According to Sean Sapp behind Fightful’s paywall, WWE is interested in bringing Tama Tonga in. Of course, this interest isn’t anything new, but the word is going around that WWE has expressed internal interest in Tama Tonga.

WWE has internally expressed interest in Tama Tonga. While we’re told that the interest in possibly bringing in Tonga isn’t new, word traveled through the NJPW locker room ahead of Wrestle Kingdom 17 and made its way to Fightful. Ironically enough, Tama Tonga faced WWE talent and NEVER Openweight Champion Karl Anderson at Wrestle Kingdom 17, winning the title.

Tama Tonga is 40, and he reportedly had a WWE offer seven years ago, “which he turned down in order to team with his brother Tanga Loa in New Japan Pro Wrestling.” This turned out to be a wise career move, because the two remained in NJPW ever since, while several of their former Bullet Club stablemates made the jump to WWE.

Tama Tonga has a lot of former Bullet Club brothers in WWE at this point. Finn Balor was recently credited for being the first to breach the idea of Dragon Lee coming to WWE, so you never know who might call Tama Tonga.
