The wrestling world was turned upside down when it was announced that Vince McMahon is back in WWE. The former WWE Chairman and CEO was recently positioned back on the WWE Board of Directors. Moreover, new reports state that Vince originally wanted a more significant role.

Vince McMahon’s retirement in July 2022 came as a shock to the entire wrestling world. However, McMahon’s new year began with rejoining WWE, in pursuit to clinch massive deals for the company and potentially sell off his creation to bigger giants.

However, Vince McMahon originally had something else also in mind when it came to his return to WWE. According to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, Mr. McMahon was looking to take over creative control of WWE a week ago, and he wanted to be involved in the day-to-day operations of running the company.

“I think everybody kind of…is looking at this going like that really what’s going to happen and being very skeptical of that in the long run….because Vince wanted it back to run the thing….I mean that’s what he wanted…that’s what he was looking for, a week ago….so he didn’t get that.”

For now, Vince McMahon does not have control over the creative process of WWE. However, all that can change in the coming weeks and could lead to large-scale implications for the WWE television programming that has been completely revamped by the regime under Triple H’s management.

WWE made it very clear in their meeting before SmackDown that Triple H will continue running the company’s television shows, and Vince McMahon is only back for television rights talks and to facilitate a potential sale.
