Mandy Rose carried the NXT women’s division for nearly a year before finally dropping the title to Roxanne Perez this past Tuesday. The Toxic Attraction star was released from her contract the very next day.

Mandy Rose’s release came as a shock to the pro wrestling world. Fans and peers banded together to send their support to the former NXT Women’s Champion, It appears that WWE tried to spin the narrative regarding her release.

Sean Sapp reported from behind Fightful’s paywall that the Stamford-based promotion tried to float the narrative that it was Rose who had asked for her release.

There were some WWE sources that were at least trying to leak that Mandy Rose had requested her release two weeks ago, but so far, we’ve not been given any indication that’s true.

Mandy Rose still had two years left on her contract when she was released from the company. The 32-year-old was said to be in good spirits before passing the torch to Perez. It remains to be seen if Rose will return to WWE.
