AEW commentator Taz has been around for a long time in the pro wrestling world. His son, HOOK, is the current FTW Champion, which Taz introduced in ECW in 1998 himself. Taz recently accused UFC of ripping off the FTW title.

Taz recently took to Twitter and said the FTW belt has had buzz around it from the ECW years, negative or positive. However, what matters most is that the FTW belt is still here, whereas all the others that wrestlers created been long gone. Taz further claimed that UFC BMF concept is a complete ripoff of the FTW title.

Correct. Some fans don’t like it or feel it should be around but that’s ok to me! It has had buzz around it from the ECW years, negative or positive..don’t matter. FTW belt is STILL here, all the others that wrestlers created been long gone.

Yes, that BMF concept is a complete ripoff of the FTW title… I really don’t give a shit because fans who know the history know that’s the vibe I started with the FTW title in late 90’s….

The UFC BMF belt was specially commissioned for UFC 244. It stands for ‘Baddest Motherf*cker in the Game.’ In both ECW and AEW, the FTW Championship has been presented as an “outlaw” or “renegade” title which is unsanctioned by officials in-storyline.

Taz was one of the mainstays of ECW and an integral part of ECW’s first-ever pay-per-view, Barely Legal. He is known to be outspoken and is never afraid to speak his mind if he ever feels like it. You can check out his tweets below.
