Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows shocked the world when they returned on the October 10th episode of Monday Night RAW to help AJ Styles in his fight against The Judgment Day. What made their return even more surprising was the fact that Karl Anderson was the IWGP Never Openweight Champion at the time of his return.

While Karl Anderson was supposed to defend his IWGP Never Openweight Championship at NJPW Battle Autumn, he was unable to make the event because he was working Crown Jewel on the same day. Since then, it was announced that Anderson will defend his title this Wednesday on December 14th.

PW Insider is now reporting that multiple sources have confirmed to them that WWE and NJPW have come to an agreement that will allow Karl Anderson to wrestle at Wrestle Kingdom at the Tokyo Dome on January 4th. This will make Anderson the first-ever contracted WWE superstar to work Wrestle Kingdom.

It was also noted that NJPW had plans to feature Karl Anderson at Wrestle Kingdom long before he returned to the WWE. It appears that Anderson will have a “strong role” to play at Wrestle Kingdom.

While there is no confirmation whether he will drop the belt at Wrestle Kingdom, it seems like the most likely scenario considering WWE won’t allow him to continue working for NJPW. We will have to wait and see if Karl Anderson’s appearance at Wrestle Kingdom will truly be his last appearance for NJPW.
