Chris Jericho has been part of the pro wrestling world for over thirty years now. He competed all over the world and made a name for himself as one of the living legends. He also had a decent run in WCW, but was offered a shockingly low amount of money compared to someone like Stevie Ray.

Before becoming the GOAT, Chris Jericho was trying to become a star in WCW. Jericho held the WCW Cruiserweight Championship four times, and he also won the WCW World Television Championship.

However, WCW always gave more emphasis to stars such as Hulk Hogan and Goldberg, which led to Jericho leaving WCW for WWE. While speaking on Talk Is Jericho, Jericho discussed his exit from WCW and revealed how the likes of even Stevie Ray made more money than him. Ray made $750,000 while Jericho was getting $350,000.

They didn’t see in me what I saw in me and even the deal, remember the deal they offered me? They came back with a new deal. I was making, I think I went from 135(K) to 165(K) to 200(K). Then next round was 250(K), 300(K), 350(K). That was what we agreed on. Then they came back with this whole, remember the tiered contract system? Keep in mind, that’s a lot of money, but in WCW, Scott Norton and Stevie Ray and those types of guys were making 750 grand. 350 for me, wasn’t really all that much money in comparison to the other guys. They came back with that deal, it was structured, ‘if they sell this many tickets, you’ll make this much.’

Chris Jericho left WCW in 1999 and made his WWE debut on the August 9 episode of Monday Night RAW, where he interrupted The Rock. Jericho’s contributions to pro wrestling will never be forgotten, and that’s all that matters now.
