William Regal’s contributions to the pro wrestling world are incalculable, since he has dedicated his entire life to the industry. Many people were surprised when he was released from WWE at the beginning of this year. The year is coming to an end, and it appears like William will make comeback.

According to PW Insider, all signs point to William Regal joining World Wrestling Entertainment soon. Although the outlet has received no official word from the company, there have been whispers within WWE about Regal returning in a backstage role. That means Regal will be leaving AEW.

All signs are that William Regal, 54, will be World Wrestling Entertainment-bound shortly. Although we have heard nothing official from the company, there have been rumblings within WWE of late about Regal returning in a backstage role. That would mean Regal would be exiting AEW, where it certainly appeared that he was written out of storylines last night on Dynamite, having been attacked by AEW Champion MJF.

He made his debut in March 2022, based on his real-life experience as a mentor to Bryan Danielson and Jon Moxley.

This resulted in the official formation of The Blackpool Combat Club, in which Wheeler Yuta and Claudio Castagnoli were eventually included. Regal defeated Moxley to secure MJF’s AEW title victory. The resignation of Vince McMahon from WWE and the rise of Paul Levesque to power clearly laid the ground for this likely return.
