All signs are that William Regal, 54, will be World Wrestling Entertainment-bound shortly. Although we have heard nothing official from the company, there have been rumblings within WWE of late about Regal returning in a backstage role. That would mean Regal would be exiting AEW, where it certainly appeared that he was written out of storylines last night on Dynamite, having been attacked by AEW Champion MJF.

Regal looked to be written out of storylines on Dynamite last night after being attacked by AEW Champion MJF. Regal joined AEW after being released along with many others of Paul Levesque’a favorite staff in January 2022. He made his debut in March 2022, based on his real-life experience as a mentor to Bryan Danielson and Jon Moxley.

This resulted in the official formation of The Blackpool Combat Club, in which Wheeler Yuta and Claudio Castagnoli were eventually included. Regal defeated Moxley to secure MJF’s AEW title victory. The resignation of Vince McMahon from WWE and the rise of Paul Levesque to power clearly laid the ground for this likely return.

Regal was long regarded as one of Levesque’s most important confidants. It appears that William Regal’s stay in AEW will be a short one, thanks to his old friend Triple H. Let’s see what happens. To get the latest updates, keep an eye on Ringside News.
