Vince McMahon retired from WWE back in July and since then, Triple H took the reins and became the head of creative. Fans were more than happy with this outcome as well. With The Game in charge, he reportedly decided to nix a few themed Premium Live Events, including Hell In A Cell. In fact, even now, the event’s future is up in the air.

WWE reportedly plans on nixing the Hell In A Cell Premium Live Event and even Money In The Bank. This decision had a very mixed response from fans as well.

While speaking during the post-Survivor Series press conference, Triple H talked about the themed events in the company and what he plans to do with them. The Game made it clear that Hell In A Cell’s future in the company remains an uncertain one.

I think Hell in a Cell stepping away for me, because Hell in a Cell is one of those things that is a giant blow-off, right? If you’re calling somebody out at the end of something, you can challenge them to Hell in a Cell. I hear all this speculation about Money in the Bank, Hell in a Cell, Elimination Chamber, maybe those go away. I hear you.

I had a highlight of my career in Hell in a Cell with Mick Foley and I calling each other out at Hell in a Cell. Then, when you’ve got someone going, ‘alright I’m tired of you I’m gonna challenge you to an elimination chamber with five other guys’ — it doesn’t work, right? Same thing. — ‘That does it, I challenge you to Money in the Bank.’ — I feel like there’s a difference there. I feel like we have to evaluate that. I feel like we have to look at the schedule and figure out which works best for our fans. It’s that whole arch and story of what we do, figuring everything out. It’s up in the air, but it’s something we think about on a regular basis.

We will have to wait and see when the next Hell In A Cell match will take place. Triple H is going back to the good old days with an increased focus on storytelling and fans are certainly down for it already.
