Sting and The Great Muta have been tag team partners and longstanding competitors in WCW and New Japan Pro Wrestling since the late 1980s. Their history together spans several decades. Darby Allin is now on his way to Japan, where he will compete in The Great Muta’s farewell match alongside Sting and The Great Muta.

According to Pro Wrestling NOAH, Keiji Mutoh will compete in his final match as The Great Muta on January 22. He is currently on his retirement tour. This will also be Allin’s first appearance in Japan. The fight’s opponents have not been revealed.

WWE star Shinsuke Nakamura will square off against The Great Muta in a singles match as part of NOAH’s The New Year 2023 celebration. At NJPW x STARDOM Historic X-Over, Muta’s last NJPW match.

Sting and Allin wrestled Buddy Matthews and Brody King during the two-hour AEW Rampage: Grand Slam episode. The Great Muta appeared to help Sting and Allin win the match by misting Matthews. After the match, the two shook hands and hugged. The two exchanged handshakes and hugs following the game. You can check out the tweet below.
