Kairi Sane was one of the best female pro wrestlers that WWE had at one point in time. She had a solid run in NXT, where she ended up winning the NXT Women’s Championship. She eventually parted ways with WWE and has now made history in NJPW.

KAIRI Sane left WWE’s weekly television programs and moved back to Japan. She also earned her degree while there, and she got married. All the while, she maintained an ambassador gig with WWE. Many believed her contract with WWE expired, and that was the case as her contract ran out earlier this year.

KAIRI then made her way to STARDOM and has been a regular feature since then. At NJPW x STARDOM Historic X-Over, Kairi Sane defeated Mayu Iwatani in the main event of the show in order to become the first-ever IWGP Women’s Champion.

Kairi showed respect to Iwatani after the match. She said she would defend the title at NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 17, but it was not made clear against whom. Regardless, we will have to see how she will be booked as the champion.
