Karl Anderson is well-known for his expertise in tag teams, but he currently holds a singles title in NJPW. Pro wrestling fans are curious to know when he is going to return to NJPW as NEVER Openweight Champion.

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter noted that Karl Anderson is planning to return to the NJPW to defend his NEVER Openweight Championship. He also stated that he is set to defend the NEVER belt against Hikuleo at Wrestle Kingdom on January 4th, 2023.

“Karl Anderson has said that he would return here and most figure he’s defending the Never title against Hikuleo at WrestleKingdom on 1/4.”

As we previously reported, Karl Anderson and NJPW were negotiating with WWE about a potential future match in NJPW. However, Anderson must now choose between defending his title or giving it up.

Anderson was scheduled to wrestle in NJPW earlier this month. However, he was unable to do so because the event’s date conflicted with Anderson’s booking at WWE Crown Jewel. For further updates stay tuned to Ringside news.
