AEW is holding their next big pay-per-view this Saturday, and Full Gear will be here before we know it. Jon Moxley or MJF will walk out of the event as AEW World Champion, but they need a new challenger. Ricky Starks has been out for a couple of weeks. Apparently, this caused AEW to alter some bigger plans due to an undisclosed injury.

While speaking on a media call to promote Full Gear, AEW President Tony Khan confirmed that Starks was out with a legit injury, and he couldn’t be cleared in time for Dynamite this week. The winner of the Starks and Lance Archer’s match this Friday on Rampage will go against Brian Cage on Saturday’s Zero Hour before Full Gear.

The tournament finals are going down on the November 23rd edition of Dynamite from Chicago. Finals were set for Saturday’s Full Gear pay-per-view, but the schedule had to be changed due to Starks’ undisclosed injury.

It’s a shame that the plans were changed up due to Starks’ injury. That’s part of the pro wrestling business, but AEW was able to make things work.

Ringside News will keep updated regarding the issue. Hopefully, the angle won’t be altered too drastically.
