AJ Styles is considered one of the best pro wrestlers alive by both fans and wrestlers alike, and it is not hard to understand why. He has faced off against the best of the best the pro wrestling world has to offer, and that includes Bryan Danielson. Danielson and Styles are often regarded as two of the best to ever do it, but Ric Flair clearly has a favorite between the two.

AJ Styles and Bryan Danielson have crossed paths numerous times in the independent circuit as well as in WWE. They had a stellar feud back in 2018, which saw Bryan beat Styles for the WWE Championship and turn heel in the process.

AJ Styles and Daniel Bryan even had an instant classic match back in 2020 as well. While speaking on his To Be The Man podcast, Ric Flair stated that he believes Bryan Danielson isn’t on AJ Styles’ level.

“The only thing we’ve disagreed on is that he’s not AJ Styles, that’s all I’ve ever said, in my opinion. [Conrad Thompson claims Bryan is better than AJ] Yeah well that’s your opinion, I don’t. And by the way I never saw Harley Race, Bruiser Brody, Pat O’Connor, Buddy Rogers, Terry Funk, Dory Funk, Jack Brisco kick anybody with their boots repeatedly.

Yeah, but AJ—he is a solid technician, he’s a technician. But nothing against Bryan Danielson I think he’s a hell of a guy.”

Danielson and Styles have put together excellent matches whenever they clashed and fans always had a great time watching them share the ring together. We wonder if they will ever compete in another match somewhere down the line.
