AEW signed several pro wrestling legends and WWE Hall of Famers to their roster, and now we have great news to report about Jake Roberts. The Snake was out of action while he battled illness, but things are looking much better for him.

The WWE Hall of Famer logged onto Twitter, and he announced that his doctors took him off oxygen. He is feeling much better, and he will soon be able to start doing public appearances once again. That includes a return to AEW television.

Off oxygen for good!! Standing tall doing great. At AEW AGAIN!! Sweet life I’m living!!

While speaking to DDP Snake Pit, Jake Roberts was very candid about his health situation. This is something that he’s battled for years, and his history with substance abuse didn’t help matters.

“Genetics being what they are, my mother had two lung diseases that she passed on to me. There’s no cure for either one of them. The last thing I should ever do is smoke a cigarette, and yet I’ve been smoking since I was 17, to the point that I have COPD and a little emphysema tossed in.”

“Now I have to see a specialist. I have to keep my eyes on it. During the pandemic, it was a real scare for me because if I got COVID, I probably wouldn’t have made it. I was really terrified. I was one of the first to get the damn shots because I have to protect my ass. Today, I feel great. I don’t have to use any oxygen at all. I do have to use it on the airplanes when they pressurize and go up high, but it’s something that can be dealt with. I can still live a great life.”

Jake Roberts was the manager of Lance Archer before he was taken off the road due to health reasons. He hasn’t been seen on AEW television in months, but hopefully that will soon change.

I love pro wrestling and hate BS. These two things drive me. Years of experience in writing, journalism, and digging exclusive insider info for Ringside News. Worked in finance before realizing pro wrestling journalism made much less sense. Pro beachballs at pro wrestling shows, pro dives if someone catches, anti bullies, olives, and pineapples on pizza.
