Roman Reigns defended his Undisputed WWE Undisputed Universal Championship against Logan Paul at WWE Crown Jewel. The match exceeded all expectations and became the best bout of the night. While many fans and critics have been praising the two men involved, there is another ‘unsung hero’ who hasn’t received his much-deserved credit for this match.

Dave Meltzer noted in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that Drew Gulak is the “unsung hero” of the Crown Jewel main event match. While many fans saw the pictures and footage of Logan Paul training with Shawn Michaels, the bulk of the training was done by Drew Gulak in Puerto Rico.

“An unsung hero of the match was Drew Gulak. WWE sent Paul a ring to Puerto Rico to train with and sent Gulak to be his personal coach. He did come to the performance center and train some with Shawn Michaels, with them shooting footage of that and pushing that aspect, the bulk of the training was by Gulak.”

Drew Gulak definitely deserves credit for training Logan Paul to put on an amazing performance against Roman Reigns. Given Logan’s performance at Crown Jewel, it remains to be seen if Gulak will be more involved in training Paul for future matches. Of course, The Maverick must get through this tricky injury portion of his pro wrestling career, an obstacle that he certainly wasn’t expecting.
