Carmelo Hayes Explains Why He Interfered In the Main Event of WWE NXT This Week

Carmelo Hayes is one of the most popular stars on NXT roster today. The A-Champ is highly popular with Shawn Michaels as well, and now he’s explaining what his presence means for the white and gold brand.

Carmelo Hayes appeared during the main event that featured Pretty Deadly’s NXT Tag Team Championship defense against NXT Champion Bron Breakker and North American Champion Wes Lee.

The A-Champ caused a distraction during the closing moments of the match, allowing Pretty Deadly to retain their titles against the champion duo of Breakker and Lee.

WWE cameras caught up with Hayes and Trick Williams backstage after the main event. Kelly Kincaid asked The A-Champ about his antics during the main event. Check out his response below.

“I did what I did because I can do what I wanna do on this show, okay! I am Main Event Melo and If I wanna pop up in the main event I will pop up in the main event. Why? Because my presence is a present on this show.”

Carmelo Hayes hasn’t competed in televised match since Halloween Havoc. We’ll have to wait to see what Shawn Michaels has next in store for The A-Champ. Keep reading Ringside News for more.
