The AEW All Out media scrum ended in complete and utter chaos after CM Punk went on a scathing rant on Colt Cabana, Hangman Page, and The Young Bucks. It had a ripple effect that is still being felt to this day. Even the Elite is now accused of being jealous of CM Punk.
CM Punk fought with The Young Bucks and Kenny Omega. AEW ended up suspending everyone involved in the brawl. All except for Ace Steel, who ended up being fired.
As previously reported, The Elite was backstage during AEW Dynamite this week and had good time. They were even seen on AEW television. While speaking on the Jim Cornette Experience podcast, Jim Cornette believed that The Elite is jealous of Punk and tried to get rid of him.
“They didn’t want Punk there from the start. I’m talking about the hardly boys [The Young Bucks] and old twinkle toes [Kenny Omega] because he exposed them. These guys he exposed for their limited audience.
He [Tony Khan] thought that he could f**king put together a national wrestling promotion on their backs. When he found out those backs weren’t wide enough to carry it. He had to start bringing in stars. They got somebody was doing numbers. And they were jealous of it because not only was he [Punk] doing bigger numbers than they were, but he was doing it with wrestling instead of their brand of convoluted western swing dancing. So those three guys they needed Punk out of there because he was exposing the whole myth of The Elite as this massive powerful force around wrestling.”
AEW already has plans for The Elite as well. As for CM Punk, his status in AEW is still under question for now. We’ll keep you updated on his status.
