CM Punk debuted last year at AEW Rampage: The First Dance and instantly became one of their top stars. He worked with several top performers since then, especially against Adam Page and MJF.

Punk went on to become a 2-time AEW World Champion and fans were excited to see what he would do next. Unfortunately, he has become public enemy #1 after his scathing rant during the AEW All Out media scrum and subsequent backstage brawl.

While speaking on the latest episode of “Foley Is Pod”, Mick Foley talked about his WWE return back in 2012 and gave credit to CM Punk for renewing his confidence in his promo ability.

In large part because of Punk, I start to regain my sense of confidence in my ability to cut promos. It’s not in fashion right now, but you need to point out the fact that he lifted people’s games in ways you wouldn’t expect.”

CM Punk also hasn’t heard from AEW since the backstage brawl. It’s not known when CM Punk will return to AEW television, but many within AEW believe that he could be done with the company.
