AJ Styles is largely regarded as one of the world’s top wrestlers today. AJ has taken on some of the industry’s greatest stars. The Phenomenal One recently opened up about the time his pants ripped open during his WWE Championship defense against Dean Ambrose, now known as Jon Moxley in AEW.

AJ Styles suffered what many would call a wardrobe malfunction. During a Tables, Ladders, and Chairs bout versus Moxley, a significant portion of the star’s backside was revealed to the public. However, Styles, on the other hand, was able to hold on to his title despite the embarrassment.

The former WWE Champion admitted to Corey LaJoie on his Stacking Pennies podcast that the TLC incident was one of the most embarrassing moments of his career. You can check out an excerpt from his interview below.

“I don’t know if I was super embarrassed, but watching it back, I was kind of embarrassed that everybody had to see this. I was wrestling Dean Ambrose, now Jon Moxley, it was a TLC match and he put me through some chairs and apparently after going through a chair, it must have gotten bent out of shape, and [it] ripped my gear in the back, close to my butthole.”

“I remember putting Jon through a table and he goes, ‘Oh, your pants are ripped.’ I’m like, ‘Huh? I could feel it. I was like, ‘Oh, man.’ So throughout the match, I would do certain moves, you could see….you know, it was really close.”

The Tables, Ladders, and Chairs bout between AJ Styles and Dean Ambrose at the at the namesake WWE event was incredible. However, there was something more that drew the supporters’ attention. Looking back at the moment, AJ Styles stated that he wouldn’t consider his tights ripping off as a wardrobe malfunction as they got cut open by a sharp object.

“They would say it was a wardrobe malfunction, but it was not. My wardrobe did exactly what it was supposed to do when it’s being sliced by a sharp object. So it wasn’t a malfunction. It just got cut open.”

Wrestling fans had a field day on Twitter mocking the former WWE Champion, with memes highlighting the terrible situation. You can check it all out below. Stay tuned to Ringside News for more WWE updates.
