Bron Breakker is still the NXT Champion coming out of Halloween Havoc, but there is no shortage of challengers in NXT.
Apollo Crews originally debuted for NXT in 2014. After spending a couple of years in NXT, he finally moved to the main roster where he rose to prominence in the pandemic era. He even ended up winning the United States Championship and Intercontinental Championship within a span of 12 months.
However, Apollo Crews returned to NXT earlier this year. Since his return, he has been feuding with Grayson Waller. The two men even had a match recently at Halloween Havoc which was won by Apollo Crews. Speaking to WWE Digital, Apollo Crews explained that the reason he came back to NXT was to win the NXT Championship.
“The real reason why I came back to NXT is what my focus is now, and do you know what that is? I’m gonna say it anyway, that is the NXT Championship.”
Bron Breakker recently defended his NXT Championship against JD McDonagh and Ilja Dragunov in a brutal encounter. Now that he has put these two challengers behind him, WWE will definitely be looking for a new challenger. Maybe Apollo Crews will fill that role quite nicely.
