Bron Breakker has been on a roll after his debut in NXT 2.0 back in September last year. He has been booked very well as the NXT Champion as well. Obviously, he is just getting started.
The current NXT Champion has defeated everyone on his path and continues to be one of the biggest stars in NXT. Not only that, but he is also dating Cora Jade, which fans approve of.
Many fans found it odd that Breakker did not have his last name as Steiner, despite being Rick Steiner’s son and Scott Steiner’s nephew. While speaking to comicbook.com, Shawn Michaels explained why Breakker doesn’t have the Steiner name.
“I think Bron is going to be incredibly successful no matter what you want to call him.
“He’s a very bright, talented, unbelievably wonderful young man. I’ll say this, I think now he’s established Bron Breakker pretty darn well. Let’s put it this way — what we wanted to make sure that we did in NXT is not run from it or pretend like it wasn’t there. And I think that’s what has helped him, I think, made that transition into a new name and character a bit easier.
“We didn’t pretend like it wasn’t there and he wasn’t a Steiner by bringing his father out and making reference to who he was and where he came from. I think that’s made it a little bit easier.”
Bron Breakker successfully defended his NXT Championship at NXT Halloween Havoc. We will have to wait and see what is next in store for the young star.
