Kiana James Left In Dark About Post-Draft Placement

Kiana James trained under the tutelage of Shawn Spears and Tyler Breeze and joined NXT a couple of years ago. She has proven to be one of NXT’s brightest young stars and she was called up to the main roster this week. Interestingly enough, she wasn’t informed where she would end up after the draft.

On the opening night of the 2024 WWE Draft, few main roster calls up were made from NXT, the biggest name out of which was certainly Carmelo Hayes. Even Kiana James was called up to Monday Night RAW during the fourth round of draft picks as well.

According to Fightful Select, Kiana James was caught off guard by her call-up to the WWE main roster during the 2024 Draft. She was not informed which brand she would be assigned to, making the moment of her call-up a genuine surprise. Corey Brennan reported that her video package was prepared earlier this week, suggesting that her inclusion in the draft was a recent decision.

One NXT talent described Kiana James as one of the best in-ring workers on the NXT women’s roster, highlighting her technical skills and in-ring prowess. This recognition speaks to James’ talent and potential, contributing to the excitement surrounding her transition to the main roster.

”Kiana James was genuinely surprised by her callup, as she was not told what brand she would end up on post the Draft. James’ video package was prepared earlier this week, per Brennan. One talent in NXT noted James was previously one of the best in ring workers on NXT’s women’s roster.”

We will have to wait and see how Kiana James will fare on Monday Night RAW, as she had already proven her worth during her time in NXT for the past couple of years.
