Bron Breakker successfully defended his NXT Championship against two very formidable opponents in Ilja Dragunov and JD McDonagh during the main event of Halloween Havoc. The match received tons of praise from Shawn Michaels.

The Heartbreak Kid talked about multiple things, including the triple threat main event during the post-Halloween Havoc media call. Shawn Michaels had high praise for all the three competitors, especially JD McDonagh.
“It exceeded, but then again, I knew those guys were gonna tear the house down. Ilja Dragunov is special, but JD … he’s been special since day one. He is so good. There is nothing that he can’t do. He was the perfect guy to tie that together.
Michaels said he knew the work ethics of both Dragunov and McDonagh since the NXT UK days. He added that he capitalized on the opportunity to bring the two from the UK all the way to the PC in Florida.
“I knew those guys were going to tear the house down. I loved working with those guys in the UK, so when we knew we had a chance to get them here. I knew those guys could go.
We’ll have to wait to see what Shawn Michaels has in store for Ilja Dragunov and JD McDonagh since neither man was able to beat Bron Breakker for the NXT Championship.
