The O.C returned to WWE two weeks ago to put the company’s tag team division on notice. Tonight, WWE acknowledged Karl Anderson’s status as NJPW’s reigning Never Openweight Champion.

Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson teamed up with Cameron Grimes against The Schism tonight on NXT. During the introduction, Vic Joseph noted that Karl Anderson is a champion in Japan.

“Speaking about going around the world. That’s exactly what O.C. has done. They shocked the world when they returned to the WWE. The O.C.’s been everywhere. I mean Karl Anderson is still a champion in Japan.”

Karl Anderson is currently booked to wrestle two separate events on November 5, 2022. The Machine Gun is set to defend the Never Openweight Championship at Osaka Jo-Hall. He’ll be teaming up with Gallows and AJ Styles against The Judgment Day at Crown Jewel the very same night. Only time will tell if he will be forced to cancel that NJPW match.
