Jon Moxley defended the AEW World Title against Hangman Page in the main event of the show this week. The two had a fierce battle, and Moxley even bled from the forehead.

The match was intense, and it appeared that Hangman was rallying. Suddenly, Moxley hit what Excalibur called a “King Kong Lariat” and that was all she wrote for Page after he went crashing to the mat.

The former AEW World Champion did not get back on his feet. Referee Paul Turner checked on him, and then Dr. Sampson jumped in the ring. The match was then called off.

Fans in Cincinnati were a bit bummed to see the match end in this fashion. They hoped to see their hometown hero, Jon Moxley, retain the AEW World Title, but not like this.

As of this writing, we are not sure exactly what Hangman Page’s injury status is. After the match, the camera did not show Hangman again, but they said on commentary that he was taken out on a gurney. We will continue monitoring this ongoing situation here at Ringside News.
