Ever since Saraya debuted on AEW Dynamite Grand Slam, there has been speculation surrounding her in-ring return. Considering she was forced to retire from in-ring action in 2018 due to a neck injury, fans were left wondering what her role in AEW might be.

However, it was recently revealed that Saraya was medically cleared by Dr. Sampson, who is AEW’s ringside doctor. Speaking on the Talk Is Jericho Podcast, Saraya spoke about the status of her in-ring future.

“It’s good. I feel really healthy, and my neck feels fantastic. I just really want to take care of my body, because as much as I want to rush into doing all these different types of matches, I know what happened last time.”

Saraya mentioned that she wanted to take things slow in AEW and give her body some time to heal. She also added it is just about her mental wellbeing as well as her physical well-being. She also said that it’s all about being in the ring with the right person.

“And then, after a while, too, it was all mental for me as well,” she said. “Like ‘Well now I’m scared. What do I do?’ So getting over that hump, and I still have that mental block a little bit,” she continued. “But I feel like if I’m in the ring with the right person, then I’m going to be way more comfortable.”

She also pointed out that she will need to change her wrestling style in order to remain healthy and recalled a match she had against AJ Lee where the latter didn’t take a single bump throughout the match. She further added that although she will take an occasional bump, she doesn’t want to be a “bump monkey.”
