After an epic close to Extreme Rules 2022, fans were expecting something big to take place the following week on Monday Night RAW. Given that it was the red brand’s season premiere, fans were expecting something special to take place. Ticket sales also increased following Bray Wyatt’s return at Extreme Rules, indicating that everyone was waiting for Bray Wyatt to be involved in the show.

However, Bray Wyatt wasn’t present at the show. Instead, it was Brock Lesnar who made his WWE return to confront and destroy Bobby Lashley costing him his United States Championship in the process. According to Andrew Zarian on Twitter, it seems like both WWE and USA Network are very happy with Brock Lesnar’s return.

“USA network and WWE are both very happy with the direction of Raw. Lesnar returning on the show felt like a “make good” to many at USA for not having Bray on Raw following the buzz from Extreme Rules.”

From the looks of what transpired on RAW this week, it looks as if WWE is planning a match between Brock Lesnar and Bobby Lashley for Crown Jewel. Meanwhile, Bray Wyatt is set to return to WWE television this Friday on SmackDown. This could result in another spike in viewership.
