Back in July 2021, Bray Wyatt was suddenly let go by WWE. This was after he was absent from WWE television for several months prior to his release. AEW even sent feelers to Wyatt after his release from WWE.

Wyatt’s Fiend character was one of the most creative gimmicks in the company’s history. In spite of that, many fans felt Wyatt was simply misused in WWE no matter what he did.

Bray Wyatt made his return during the Extreme Rules Premium Live Event. He came out at the very end of the show after Matt Riddle and Seth Rollins’ Fight Pit Match.

Sports Illustrated wrote an article on Wyatt’s return at Extreme Rules. In it, they discussed Wyatt’s release. The report confirmed that Wyatt had received feelers from several companies, including AEW, Impact and AAA in Mexico.
