Chris Benoit was one of the best pro wrestlers to have ever competed inside the squared circle. He made his mark all over the world in various pro wrestling companies.

Benoit faced off against many excellent wrestlers, as his in-ring skills were second to one. He also had an interaction with Rob Van Dam prior to the ECW legend’s exit from WWE in 2007.

While speaking on a recent episode of the Cafe De Rene podcast, Rob Van Dam revealed his final interaction with The Rabid Wolverine.

“In 2006 or 2007, whenever it was the same situation, but at this time, he said, ‘Rob, I heard you were leaving.’ I said, ‘Yeah when my contract’s up, I’m not going to re-sign,” revealed RVD. “He goes, ‘Hey, a lot of us respect you for that, man.’ I said, ‘Okay, I’m not saying I’m never going to come back.’ Hey, it doesn’t matter! You know when it’s right to leave; a lot of us don’t know that. So we respect you for that, so good on you.”

Benoit’s legacy will forever be sullied due to his actions, which many people deem unforgivable. Regardless, his death brought about a lot of changes in WWE that remain intact to this day.
